镌刻着历史的层层纹理。
诞生于人类婴孩时期的石雕艺术，
正无声地讲述着
数千年来人们的奇思妙想。
四川省乐山市南岷江东岸，
一尊高达71米的佛像安静地伫立了上千年。
历经风吹日晒，大佛表面已遍布岁月的痕迹。
然而，这尊建自唐朝开元年间的石佛，
却只是石雕艺术的后来者。
早在遥远的石器时代，
山顶洞人就将石头琢磨穿孔，制成装饰品。
自此，随处可见的石料
成为了人类攻无不克的雕刻质材，
石雕艺术也应运而生。
中国的石雕艺人们讲究
“因材而施艺，因色而取巧”，
石头天然的纹理和色泽是最终成形的关键。
一块“颜值在线”的石头被匠人相中，
经过设计、凿胚、修光、上油等环节，
便脱下粗糙的外衣，
进化成圆滑莹润的石雕作品。
看那栩栩如生的菊花石雕，
晶莹剔透的寿山石雕，
还有壮观恢弘的大足石雕，
一块块山中璞石，在匠人的巧手之下，
变换各种造型，达到天工合一的境界。
大匠运斤，顽石雕琢生花，
不着点墨，尽显天然本色。
石雕是创造与重生的艺术，
它默默不语，
却承载了人与自然的永恒记忆。
A small stone can be engraved with the
texture of history.The art of stone carving was born in the
early days of humankind.It silently tells of the fantasies and
whims of human beings over thousands of years.On the east bank of Min River in the south
of Leshan City, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province, a 71-meter-high Buddha
statue has been standing quietly for more than 1,000 years. The surface of the Buddha has been carved
with traces of wind and sun.However, this stone Buddha built in the
eighth century is only a latecomer to the art of stone carving.As early as the Stone Age, beginning about
2.6 million years ago, Upper Cave Men polished and pierced stones to make
decorations.Since then, the ubiquitous objects have
become an excellent material for carving, spawning the emergence of stone
carving.Chinese stone artists carve in accordance
with the natural texture and color of the stone, which is key to the final
finish.They select a piece of “good-looking” stone, and after designing, chiseling, polishing and
oiling, the artists finally take off the rough coating of the raw material and
turn it into a smooth and round piece of art.Look at the intensely vivid chrysanthemum
stone carving, the crystal Shoushan stone carving, and magnificent Dazu stone
carving.Pieces of mountain stones are carved into
various shapes by the craftsmen to achieve a unity of nature and skill.Master craftsmen use exquisite skills to
carve the stone into a work of art.Stone carving is the art of creation and
